What can I expect as a patient at Generations Med Clinic?
At Generations Med Clinic, we aim to provide safe, respectful, evidence-based, and comprehensive medical care. We value professionalism, mutual respect, and continuity of care between patients and their healthcare team.
How can I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked:
By calling the clinic during regular business hours
In person at the clinic reception desk
The quickest and most convenient way to book an appointment is through our online booking platform, Cortico, which is available 24/7 and allows patients to book appointments at their convenience.
Please note that appointment requests submitted by email are not accepted or processed.
Is the clinic a family-friendly space?
Yes. We strive to maintain a welcoming and family-friendly environment for all patients and visitors.
However, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times while in the clinic. Running in hallways, standing on chairs, opening doors to examination rooms, or entering private clinical areas without permission is not permitted, as this may disrupt patient care, compromise privacy, and create safety concerns.

How many concerns can I discuss during one appointment?
To ensure appointments run on time and each concern is addressed appropriately. Complex or multiple concerns may require follow-up visits.
What happens if I arrive late?
Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late without notice may need to reschedule their appointment.
Is there a fee for missed appointments?
Yes. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a no-show fee, which must be paid before future appointments can be booked.
Can I use walk-in clinics?
Generations Med Clinic should be your primary care home. Walk-in clinics should only be used when our physicians are unavailable. Frequent use of walk-in clinics for routine care may affect your ongoing attachment to the clinic.
Will the clinic refer me to a specialist if I ask?
Specialist referrals are made when medically appropriate. Referrals are typically arranged when your condition requires specialist assessment, treatment, or when the clinic has reached the appropriate ceiling of care within family practice.
We do not provide specialist referrals without a clinical indication or medical need. Referral decisions are based on evidence-based medical assessment and standard medical guidelines. the same implies to ordering tests and investigations.
Can my naturopath request tests or referrals through the clinic?
No. Tests, treatments, and referrals recommended by naturopathic or alternative providers remain the responsibility of those providers. Our physicians follow Canadian evidence-based medical standards.

Clinic Policies & Expectations
Is recording allowed during appointments?
Recording within clinic spaces is not permitted unless disclosed and agreed upon with your healthcare provider. Unauthorized recording may result in termination of care.
How quickly are emails reviewed?
Clinic emails are typically reviewed within 5–10 business days. Email should not be used for urgent or time-sensitive medical concerns.
Please do not send urgent medical matters through email.
Can I send medical documents through email?
For privacy and security reasons, please do not send sensitive medical documents or personal health information through email.
Our clinic uses the secure Cortico patient portal for communication and document sharing whenever appropriate. Please speak with clinic staff if you have questions about accessing or using the portal.
What should I do if the clinic is closed and I need urgent medical care?
If the clinic is closed and you require urgent medical attention, you may:
Visit an Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC)
Call 8-1-1 for non-emergency medical advice from a registered nurse
Call 9-1-1 for medical emergencies
Present yourself to the nearest Emergency Department if you believe you require emergency care
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.
What happens if there is disrespectful behaviour toward staff?
Generations Med Clinic has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive behaviour toward staff or other patients. Such behaviour may result in immediate termination of care.
Can the clinic end the physician-patient relationship?
Yes. The clinic may discontinue care in situations such as repeated missed appointments, abusive behaviour, excessive walk-in clinic use, unauthorized recordings, or significant conflict regarding medical care expectations
Aesthetic & Cosmetic Services
Does the clinic provide aesthetic or cosmetic medicine?
Yes. Generations Med Clinic offers a full scope of aesthetic and cosmetic medical services.
Please note that aesthetic medicine is separate from your insured medical care and family practice services. Cosmetic consultations, procedures, and related treatments are considered uninsured services and may involve separate fees.
Uninsured Services
What services are not covered by MSP?
Examples of uninsured services include:
Sick notes
Insurance or legal forms
Driver’s medical exams
Travel consultations
Cosmetic procedures
Certain reports and documentation
Additional fees may apply for these services.
Communication & Privacy
Can the clinic contact me electronically?
Yes. By being a patient at the clinic, you consent to communication by phone, email, text, or other electronic methods. While reasonable precautions are taken, electronic communication is not fully secure.
Does the clinic use AI-assisted documentation?
Yes. AI-assisted tools may be used to support clinical and administrative documentation under physician supervision while maintaining confidentiality and privacy standards.
Scope of Practice
Are there services the clinic does not provide?
Our physicians practice within their professional competencies and scope of practice. Some services, including abortion services, opioid replacement therapy, medical cannabis authorization, and MAiD assessments, may not be provided by some of the physicians. Where appropriate, patients are directed to external providers or resources to ensure care is continued.
Always see my own family physician?
We strive to book patients with their own family physician whenever possible to support continuity of care. However, depending on physician availability, scheduling, vacation coverage, or urgent medical needs, you may occasionally be booked with another provider within the clinic to help ensure timely and appropriate care.
